Many people suffer needlessly and put off getting help for years because they believe they cannot talk to anyone about their problems. They may fear they will be rejected or that their struggle is too big, too evil, too strange, too embarrassing, etc., for anyone to be able to help or understand them.
Kim wants you to know that counseling is a place where you will discover that you can be heard, understood , and accepted just the way you are. You need to know that the counseling relationship is confidential, with a few exceptions that are required by law to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Finally, be encouraged that help is available for those who are ready to resolve their issues. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment, please contact Kim.
While I am open to utilizing different treatment approaches, my primary counseling theory is cognitive-behavioral, which asserts that faulty thought patterns lead to dysfunctional behaviors; as such, changing maladaptive thinking leads to healthier behavior. As a Christian counselor I recognize the value of the leading of the Holy Spirit within the counseling process. Biblical Counseling is a Christ-centered, comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally-informed one-another ministry that depends upon the Holy Spirit to relate God’s Word to life’s problems.
